http://www.waspknife.com basically has a co2 cartridge in the handle of the knife and a trigger on the handle that releases all of the freezing gas into the unfortunate soul who bears the brunt of this device. wow......just, ....wow. |

Who the hell is going to stay still long enough for you to stab them AND eject them??
in the heat of battle that last thing you will remember is some crazy button you have to press, This knife is not the least bit practicle. I would rather have a ballistic knife if anything. |

Agreed--wow! ... this is a special tool/weapon that would be an equalizer in a tussle with large beasts on land or in the water.
Not to mention the applications in special ops. One thrust and it's all over. |
Re: wasp knife...........WOW!!!!
Best to practice your blade work instead of depending on a gimmick. Proper bladework and good tools will do more than depending on a button.

See, I beat Twisted Avatar to it this time. I remember reading a non-fiction novel which mentioned knife throwing, the guy said it is unlikely anyone has ever been killed by a thrown knife in combat. Conventional knifes are for controlled use in the hand, not for throwing about the place. (There are specialised throwing knives and shurikens for that, but they are designed to distract or impede a pursuer, not as a means of outright killing). The CO2 knife might be useful against sharks while snorkelling about the place (there are versions already around for this role). |
Re: wasp knife...........WOW!!!!
I'd be another to say the wasp-knife is a dumb idea.
Not that it wouldn't work in terms of increasing the severity of the injury, but that it's so unwieldy to use, it'd be of no practical advantage. It's hell on watermelons though. Extreme gardening, anyone? :tongue_ma: Quote:
The gas from a CO2 capsule doesn't come out anywhere near as forcefully and fast as the blast from a handgun shell does. I know that in the past you could get CO2-powered spear guns, but that's something else entirely. -end- |
